I became passionate about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) after witnessing its ability to transform lives in a meaningful and efficient manner, even for those who had been struggling in other types of treatments for years.
I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Clinical Counseling in 2006 from Keene State College in NH. My training interests became focused on CBT with Exposure/Response Prevention (ERP) and related strategies while working as a research assistant and residential counselor at the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Institute at McLean Hospital in MA. I went on to complete my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University in 2011, then completed specialized post-graduate training at the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment (KCCAT), serving as a research coordinator and staff therapist as I obtained independent licensure.
My husband and I were thrilled at the opportunity to return our family to our home state of CT. I maintain active involvement in local and national professional organizations including AAMFT, IOCDF, and ADAA for which I was honored as part of the 2016 class of its Career Development Leadership Program.
My work is collaborative and tailored to the individual/family. I exclusively use evidence-based treatment, meaning techniques that have been proven effective through established, credible research. I rely on my core background in general systems theory to help you feel seen and supported throughout the process.
